New Hire Spotlight: Chris Claxton

Chris Claxton

The frank Agency is excited to welcome Chris Claxton as our new Systems Administrator. In the short time he’s been here, Chris has already made a positive impact on the office with his cheery demeanor and helpful attitude. To help us get to know Chris better, we asked him a few questions about himself.

How did you choose (or end up in) your current career? I kind of fell into it. I’ve always been a bit of a geek. Well, maybe more than a bit…

What initially drew you to The frank Agency? The website! It’s bold, fun and clever.

What was your first impression of us? I was impressed with how friendly everyone was. Marva and James were the first people I met here, and I liked both of them immediately. After being introduced to others I noticed that there is a strong family feel here that would make working at The frank Agency a great experience.

What are you looking forward to in your position here? I like the comfort of doing things that I’m already comfortable with and the excitement of knowing that there’s plenty that needs to be done that I’ll have to learn. Between the interesting work and the interesting (sometimes very interesting!) people, I think I’ll be happy here for a long time!

And now for a few fun personal questions!

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? How did that pan out for you? I wanted to be an astronaut! I even started a club where the initiation simulated returning to Earth in the cramped quarters and intense heat of the reentry vehicle by stuffing each new recruit under the rear seat of Dad’s old Ford station wagon in the middle of a hot July day for 15 minutes.

If you could choose anyone in the world to have dinner (or a beer!) with, who would it be and why? I do this all the time! I regularly meet with people who served in the military. There’s not much more fulfilling than buying a beer for a Vietnam or Korean War vet and listening to his stories.

Current top five playlist?

  • Miles Davis
  • Michael Stanley
  • The Black Keys
  • Joe Satriani
  • Dio

I know that’s all over the map, but sometimes you need to rock and sometimes you need to relax!

Ultimate vacation destination? Alma, Colorado. Far from city lights, no cell signal, surrounded by nature.

What’s the last thing that made you laugh? My daughter wore a dress and worked hard being prim and proper for our wedding anniversary dinner. She was way past done being girly by the time we got home, so when we pulled into the driveway she hopped out of the car and was up a tree before I got my door shut!

Please join us in welcoming Chris to The frank Agency!
