Established in 1981, we are a fast-paced, fun advertising agency located in Overland Park, Kansas. We’re seeking a Digital Media Strategist to fill an important function within our agency.

Job Description:

The Digital Media Strategist is well-versed across three digital channels – Paid Search/Display, SEO and Social Media. The Digital Media Strategist should have an in-depth understanding of each medium’s strengths and ability to achieve client and company objectives. The Digital Media Strategist utilizes this expertise to create scalable and cost effective strategies. The Digital Media Strategist will operate autonomously while presenting new and creative ideas to a book of business. They are responsible for building new campaigns, ongoing optimization (ad testing, etc.), while maintaining a focus on ways to improve conversion rates both at the front end user experience as well as the backend.    

Specific Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Have strong experience in planning, optimizing, implementing and analyzing paid search, display and paid social.
    • Know how to effectively manage and optimize campaigns on time and within budget on major search engines including Google, Yahoo, Bing and various 2nd tier search engines and content networks.
    • Trend and analyze results, make recommendations for future campaigns and deliver relevant reports to client team.
    • Produce strategic planning documents and competitive analyses.
    • Produce internal and client presentations for existing clients and new business efforts.
    • Explore and recommend new and innovative creative digital solutions and tests.
    • Mentor and train digital media buyers.
  • Well versed in all SEO activities such as content strategy, link building and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks.
    • Strategize, orchestrate, and implement client and internal SEO initiatives, including performing both onsite and offsite SEO tasks.
    • Research and identify keyword opportunity and develop projects around them that will help increase keyword rankings for the client.
    • Develop and execute natural link-building strategies via content strategy, social media and partnership development.
    • Work with creative and account service teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming.
    • Produce client deliverables in a timely manner including periodic website analysis, performance and keyword reports.
  • Know how to create and implement social media strategies and engaging content, effective blogs.
    • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
    • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
    • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules
    • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social
    • Show a willingness to innovate and evolve social media strategy to rise above the status-quo.

Special Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of Digital Media or Digital Marketing experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, new media, journalism, public relations, or business (other degree areas will also be considered).
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing, presentation and communication skills.
  • 1-3 years experience with Keyword Research, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).
  • Knowledge of Social Media Best Practices and Social Media tools like Hootsuite and Social Sprout.
  • Knowledge of WordPress, HTML, CSS, programming language and blogging.
  • Knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels.
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.
