In a milestone rarely achieved in today’s advertising world, The frank Agency (TfA) and the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU) will celebrate a 30-year partnership this fall. A public utility staple since 1909, BPU came on board with The frank Agency in 1985 with a goal of increasing public awareness and strengthening the BPU brand.

“The frank Agency has worked tirelessly to help us reach out to our customers and establish our brand,” said BPU Chief Communications Officer, David Mehlhaff. “We’re happy to have found such a reliable and trusted partner to assist with our continued success as we reach out to not just serve, but to connect with our customers.”

Over the last three decades, The frank Agency has spearheaded a wide range of marketing initiatives for BPU, from direct mail to Web design. In 2013, TfA worked with BPU to provide a complete rebrand, including a new logo, corporate identity, brand anthem and mobile site. Other recent initiatives include a series of educational videos, a YouTube channel and a new website slated to go live in the coming months.

“Over the last 30 years, we’ve developed a wonderful relationship with BPU, and we’re proud to have reached this milestone,” said Susan Reiter, Chief Operating Officer at The frank Agency. “We look forward to continued innovation and success as we work to further build the BPU brand.”

The frank Agency was established in 1981 and was recently named as one of the top 10 advertising agencies in Kansas City by the Kansas City Business Journal. TfA serves a variety of clients in the automotive, transportation, education, financial, retail and not-for-profit industries.
