Job Description:

The BI Developer will be responsible for utilizing SQL management tools as well as data visualization tools to analyze data elements to provide BI reports and dashboards. The BI Developer will collaborate with various internal resources to analyze data from a variety of source systems. This person will provide insight into the various data sources to assist teams in providing actionable information back to clients and business units. The BI Developer will develop customized reports/dashboards, document report requirements, design and build various data load processes and provide data analysis and documentation across business source systems. The candidate should be flexible, results oriented with strong analytics and visualization skills and ability to communicate well across business subject areas.

Specific Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data elements to provide actionable information back to various business units.
  • Work with business teams to develop report requirements and foster keen understanding of data elements.
  • Design, build and maintain a variety of reports, graphs and dashboards.
  • Analyze data elements for predictive modeling and to ensure data quality.
  • Design, create and maintain report and data specification documentation.
  • Provide support and guidance on change controls and report/dashboard availability.
  • Work with database team to maintain and build data load and cleansing processes.
 

Special Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field.
  • Three or more years’ experience with creating and developing reports, dashboards and business intelligence solutions.
  • Experience in MSBI stack.
  • Experience working with variety of data sources including but not limited to MySQL, flat files, Excel and XML.
  • Working knowledge of T-SQL and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and predictive analytics.
  • Knowledge of the R programming language as well as the IDE RStudio.
  • Strong documentation skills with MS Office Suite especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and with teams across subject areas.
