Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator is responsible for providing support for our internal systems in a variety of ways including addressing desktop, Windows server and networking issues; recommending solutions for how customers can improve technology performance and effectively communicating with internal clients in all situations.  Reports to the IT Director with whom he/she will have daily interaction in order to obtain approval for new projects and objectives.

 

Job Description:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for providing support for our internal systems in a variety of ways including addressing desktop, Windows server and networking issues; recommending solutions for how customers can improve technology performance and effectively communicating with internal clients in all situations.  Reports to the IT Director with whom he/she will have daily interaction in order to obtain approval for new projects and objectives.

Specific Tasks/Responsibilities:

  •        Manage desktop/server/networking hardware and software.
  •        Set up website test and production environments (IIS).
  •       Maintains database for computer inventory.
  •       Set up backups and ensure they are running successfully.
  •      Analyze and quickly diagnose any information systems issues as they arise.
  •      Research, evaluate and recommend software and hardware to increase operating efficiency.
  •      Document Information Systems policies and procedures.

Special Skills and Qualifications:

Required

  •         3+ years of experience in desktop troubleshooting (Windows 7/Mac OS 10.x).
  •         3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office.
  •        2+ years of experience in Microsoft Windows Server administrators.
  •        Experience with Active Directory.
  •        Experience with Microsoft Internet Information Services.
  •        Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  •        Detail oriented with multi-tasking capabilities and the ability to prioritize work.
Preferred
  •          Experience with Microsoft Exchange 2013.
  •          Experience with Microsoft Lync/S4B 2013
  •          Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V 2012
  •          Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012
  •          Basic experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2012
